288 Group has raised £1.25 million for The Royal British Legion

In January this year we were invited to visit The Royal British Legion at their headquarters in London. The team had great day reviewing our Remembrance campaign for 2022 and looking ahead to this year’s plans and beyond.

288 Group has worked with The Royal British Legion for almost 20 years, in fact, it’s one of our longest standing partnerships and it’s going strong. The annual Poppy coin is recognised across the UK and the company has now raised an incredible £1.25 million for the charity over the lifetime of our partnership. We are so proud to support the serving members of the Armed Forces, ex-servicemen and their families.

The Westminster Collection Poppy Coin to be used for 2021 FA Cup Final coin toss

We are proud to hear that one of the striking poppy coins from the latest 50p collection, to mark the centenary of the Royal British Legion, will be used at this year’s FA Cup Final between Chelsea and Leicester City. The full-colour 50p coin will be used by the Chelsea and Leicester City captains in the pre-kick off coin toss. The winner of the toss-up get to decide who kicks off in the first half.

Working on behalf of the Royal British Legion, our team here at The Westminster Collection have produced a beautiful full-colour RBL Centenary 50p coin, which bears the image of Her Majesty the Queen on one side, the dates of the centenary and the two-petal poppy on the other.

Sharing his gratitude of the upcoming FA Cup coin toss Charles Byrne, Director General of the RBL, said: “We are grateful to the FA, as this bespoke commemorative coin from the RBL will be used for the coin toss at this year’s Emirates FA Cup final between Chelsea and Leicester City, to recognise both our support and the service of Her Majesty’s Armed Forces over the past century.” It is wonderful to see RBL and The Westminster Collections hard work being showcased in front of millions of viewers on this momentous occasion.
